The Highland Badger Network

Protecting badgers in the Scottish Highlands

---------------------

about us

Who are we?

The Highland Badger Network is a loose-knit collection of people with the common interest of protecting the welfare of badgers living in the Scottish Highlands.    We operate under the umbrella of the national body "Scottish Badgers" who are recognised by the Scottish Executive, Scottish Natural Heritage, and the Police as the voice of badgers in Scotland.

Our Aims

We exist to help Highland badgers cope with the modern world in whatever way we can. This includes:

  • Providing access to badger friendly advice for developers, foresters, local authorities and land owners whenever their schemes impinge on the lives of badgers
  • Assisting the Police and Scottish Natural Heritage with their enquiries whenever persecution of badgers is suspected
  • Raising standards by sharing experiences and information
  • Compiling records of the presence of badgers in the Highlands
  • Raising awareness about badgers in the Highlands

The co-ordinator of the network is:
